Aquatic Program

Thomas Nicolla Physical Therapy is pleased to present our physical therapy aquatic program. Aquatic therapy provides an opportunity to develop improved strength, range of motion, flexibility, coordination, endurance, and general conditioning. 

Our pool is therapeutically heated to 92° F in order to assist with decreasing pain, increasing relaxation, improving circulation and promoting proper posture. We offer Aquatic therapy services at our Albany location.

OUR AQUATIC PROGRAMS
  • Aquatic therapy programs are designed individually with determined goals established by the MD, PT and patient.
  • Uses the unique properties of water; buoyancy, viscosity and hydrostatic pressure to assist motion, provide resistance and reduce edema.
  • An experienced, licensed physical therapist will instruct you in an exercise program including; relaxation, stretching, range of motion, strengthening, and endurance exercises.
  • A Pediatric Aquatic Therapy Program is provided through Kids Care

AQUATIC THERAPY IS BENEFICIAL FOR:
  • Arthritis, OA and RA, DJD, DDD
  • Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain
  • Low Back and Neck Pain
  • Post-Operative Conditioning including: Total Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy, Back Surgery, and Fractures
  • Athletes and those with Orthopedic Conditions
  • Physical and Neurological Impairments such as: Neuropathy, Stroke, and Scoliosis
  • Gait/Balance Disorders, Non and Partial Weight Bearing Condition
